Skimming, micro cement and Venetian plaster across Lytham, St Annes and the Fylde
Coast. Straight edges, mirror-flat walls, and not a speck of mess left behind.
Plastering is a finishing trade. It’s the last thing done to a room and the first thing
anyone notices — so it’s worth having done by someone who cares how the light sits on it.

02
We leave it cleaner than we found it
Floors sheeted, edges taped, furniture covered. Every job ends with the room swept and the mess taken away.

Every job is priced on its own, because the cost depends on the size of the room, the condition of the walls and
ceilings, and the finish you want — a straightforward re-skim and a polished Venetian feature wall are very
different jobs. The quote is free and comes with no obligation: Liam visits, measures up, talks through the
finish, and you get a clear written price before anything is agreed.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. Work runs from a single ceiling repair to a full-house re-skim, so a cracked ceiling or one tired wall is
worth asking about. Send a few details through the quote form or call Liam on 07703 620195, and he’ll tell you
straight whether it’s something he can help with.
How long before I can paint new plaster?
New plaster has to dry out completely before it’s decorated. How long that takes depends on how thick it is, how
well the room is ventilated and the time of year — typically around a week for a skim in a warm, airy room, and
longer in winter or over fresh backing plaster. It’s ready when it has turned an even pale pink with no darker
patches. The first coat should be a thinned “mist coat” of water-based emulsion, so the paint bonds instead of
peeling.
What’s the difference between skimming and rendering?
Skimming is a thin finishing coat of plaster on inside walls and ceilings, leaving a smooth surface ready to
decorate. Rendering is for outside walls: a thicker, weather-resistant coat applied over brick or block to
protect it and give it a clean, even finish. If you’re not sure which your job needs, describe it in the quote
form and Liam will advise.
What is micro cement, and where can it go?
Micro cement is a thin, cement-based coating trowelled on in layers to give a seamless, concrete-look surface with
no grout lines or joints. It suits walls, floors, wet rooms and worktops — anywhere you want one continuous
finish. Whether it can go straight over what’s there now depends on the surface and its condition, so that’s
checked at the free survey before anything is quoted.
Is Venetian plaster practical, or just for show?
Venetian plaster is built up in thin trowelled layers and burnished to a polish, then usually finished with a wax
or sealer that helps protect the surface. Whether it suits a busy hallway or a wall near water depends on the
product and how it’s sealed, so Liam will talk through where it works best in your home when he comes to quote.
How much mess is there, and what do I need to do?
Very little is left behind. Floors are sheeted, furniture is covered and edges are taped before work starts, and
every job ends with the room swept and the waste taken away. It helps to clear small and fragile items out of the
room beforehand — anything bigger can be talked through when Liam comes to quote.
How long will my job take?
It depends on the size of the job and the finish: a single-room re-skim and a full micro cement bathroom are very
different amounts of work. Ask when Liam comes to quote — he’ll talk you through how long your job should take
and agree a start date with you.
Which areas do you cover?

wider Fylde. If you’re nearby and not on that list, just ask — send your details through the quote form and
you’ll get a straight answer.
